You can request deletion of your Monkumo account and all associated data at any time. This is required by Apple's App Store policy (§5.1.1(v)), GDPR Article 17 ("right to erasure"), and CCPA §1798.105 (California consumer right to delete).
How to request deletion
Send an email to support@mustafabaykal.com with the subject line "Delete my account - Monkumo" from the address you used to sign up (or any address that identifies you).
If you signed in with Apple's "Hide My Email" relay, please include any in-app username, display name, or device identifier so we can locate your record.
If you have not created an account (the app is local-first and an account is optional), then deleting the app from your iPhone removes all your data. There is no server-side data to delete.
What gets deleted
- Your account record on our servers (if one exists)
- All associated user data: progress, settings, preferences, profile fields
- Any uploaded content (images, voice clips, notes)
- Your subscription record will be marked as anonymized — no personally identifying link remains
- Any active cloud-sync state
- Crash reports and analytics events tied to your user ID (where technically possible)
What we keep (and why)
- Aggregated, anonymized analytics — cannot be linked back to you. Used only for app-improvement decisions.
- Records required by law — payment records (5-10 years per local tax law).
- Webhook logs — auto-purged after 90 days.
- Backup snapshots — purged on the next 30-day backup rotation cycle.
Timing and confirmation
Deletion is processed within 30 days of request. We aim to complete most deletions within 7 days; the 30-day window allows for backup rotation cycles per industry standards.
You will receive a confirmation email when deletion is complete. If you do not receive confirmation within 30 days, email us again — we honor every request.
About your subscription
Important: Deleting your account does NOT cancel your iOS subscription. Subscriptions are managed by Apple, not by us, and we cannot cancel them on your behalf. To cancel: open iPhone Settings → [Your Apple ID] → Subscriptions → Monkumo → Cancel Subscription. Cancel at least 24 hours before the next renewal date to avoid being charged.
EU / UK / Türkiye / California users
You have the right to erasure (GDPR Art. 17 / KVKK Art. 7 / CCPA §1798.105). We process every request from these jurisdictions within the timeframes required by law (GDPR: 30 days; KVKK: 30 days; CCPA: 45 days, extendable by 45). If we deny a request, we will explain why and your right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority (Türkiye: KVKK; EU: your national DPA; California: California AG).
Children's data
If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used Monkumo without your consent, please email support@mustafabaykal.com with subject "Child data deletion - Monkumo". We will delete within 7 days and confirm.
